船便にかけられた関税がほぼ返還される予定

以前のブログ記事で、船便で日本から私と子供の服を送ったら、Imported VATとして£46.48が課税されたお話を書きました。

不当に課税された税金を返金してください。とお手紙を書いてから１ヶ月半が経過した今日、Boader FoceのCoventry International Hubというところから郵便物が届きました。

お手紙の書き出しには、、、
".. I apologise for the delay in replying."
と書いてあり、一応、対応が遅いのをすまないとは思っているようです。
しかも、クリスマスイブの前日１２月２３日付けてお手紙作っていただいてるのに！！ありがとうございます。

そして肝心の内容はというと、、、

"On re-consideration the goods are regarded as falling within the limited concessions allowed on postal imports and arrangements are being made to forward a repayment of £38.48 to you within 30 working days of the day of this letter in the form of a Payable Order."

ということで、手数料の８ポンド以外は返金してくれるようです。

ただし、今回の対応は、今後の似たような事案の前例にはなりえないとの但し書き。
"… this decision does not prejudice any future decisions made by Border Force in relation to any similar imports."

しかし、もしかしたらまだハンドリングフィーかかるかも。。。とか書いてある。ので、ちょっとドキドキではあります。
"The manner in which your parcel has been processed is based on the information contained within the sender's declaration and therefore the handling fees remains applicable."

ひとまず、ちゃんと換金可能な書類が届くまでは安心できませんが、ひとまず、前回送ったComplainについては聞き入れられたようです。
ホント、この国は、文句言うときはちゃんと言わないといけませんね。
